Father’s Day 2014

fathers day1

Created using letters from Hobbycraft. Gifted to Andy in an IKEA frame (bargain). Needless to say, he loved it!

Father’s Day lends itself perfectly to getting a little creative with your little ones. As Bill Cosby once said,

“Fatherhood is pretending the present you love most is soap-on-a-rope.”

Don’t worry Andy, you won’t ever get soap on a rope from Harry, but there may well be hand prints, clay pots, and some questionable crayon creations.  It’s great fun coming up with ideas that involve your children.  Why spend a fortune in the shops on generic “Best Dad” mugs, when you can create something 100% unique? If you’re stuck for inspiration, check out my pinterest board dedicated to Father’s Day gift ideas. Some though, are also shop bought, for those of us who might be short on time but looking for something a little different.

This year though, I went snap happy and caught our little fella’s character through the lens.

And, a celebration wouldn’t be complete with something sweet.  So I made batches of Father’s Day cupcakes which were available for sale via my little cake business The Humble Cake Company.  They seemed to go down a treat with all the Dads that received them. fathers day 2014_wt
